Abstract:

Supply chain optimization-based network design is an essential tool for confronting complexity and speed of change. Too often it is used only to address questions of finished goods distribution such as the number, size and location of distribution centers. However, the proper scope should include the entire supply chain and can address such questions as strategic sourcing, manufacturing location and capacity, inventory levels and costs, total cost-to-serve, vulnerability, sustainability, flexibility/agility, transportation policy and international finance.

Please join Dr. Jeff Karrenbauer, President of INSIGHT, Inc. and SCDigest Editor Dan Gilmore for Part 1 of this outstanding two-part series.

Not to be missed!

What You’ll Learn in Part 1:

Understanding the true scope of network planning tools and the need for comprehensive supply chain planning, not just finished goods distribution locations

Appreciating the need to confront supply chain complexity and speed of change by institutionalizing supply chain strategic planning

Featuring: Dr. Jeff Karrenbauer, President of INSIGHT, Inc. and SCDigest Editor Dan Gilmore.
