Abstract:
The concept of "demand signal repository" (DSR) - the ability to capture and see demand information in a granular, holistic fashion across specific retailers and channels - has been around for many years now.
But the reality is that very few consumer goods companies have been able to create a robust DSR capability. Those that have tried have often become bogged down in just the effort to integrate a small number of retailer.
And the cost! Developing a DSR can be very expensive both in IT services (internal and external) and buying your own data back from retailers to populate the DSR.
It doesn't have to be that way.
In this outstanding broadcast, we'll review the basics of a demand signal repository, how it can drive tremendous benefits by enabling a demand-driven supply chain, and the barriers to achieving these critical capabilities.
After that review, we'll explore how the right technology can enable consumer goods companies to deploy a robust DSR across almost all their retail partners and channels - at a fraction of the traditional time, pain and cost.
Not to be missed by anyone in the consumer goods sector - or consultants who wish to get up to speed on DSR technology and benefits.
This Videocast will feature SCDigest editor Dan Gilmore
and John Beckett, Founder and President at Retail Velocity and the inventor of the Demand Signal Repository in 1994.
